Mexico City 1999
Todd was part of a US delegation that attended an Interpol conference on antiquity trafficking in Mexico City in December 1999. The conference was held at the anthropology museum and included a field trip to Teotihuacan.
El Potreo Chico 2004-2008
Between 2004 and 2008, Todd climbed at El Portreo Chico a total of five times. The area is located about an hour from Monterrey, Mexico and has fantastic long climbs on limestone. Donette joined Todd in 2008 and they established two new routes as well as attending raucous New Year’s Eve parties.
Palenque 2011
In April 2011, Todd was invited by the Mexican government to speak at an international conference on antiquity theft and trafficking. The conference was held at Palenque, a World Heritage Site in southern Mexico. On the way home, Todd had a day to explore the Zocalo area of downtown Mexico City.
Mexico City 2012
Donette and Todd visited Mexico City in February 2012. In addition to exploring the downtown and going to Teotihuacan, the pair took in a night of lucha libre!
Mexico City, Central Mexico 2014-15 and 2015-16
Over the holidays, Todd & Donette traveled to Mexico. After a few days exploring cultural sites in and around Mexico City, they visited the climbing areas of Aculco, El Arenal, Jilotepec, Mineral del Chico and Pena de Bernal. On these two trips they climbed many classics and completed new routes at Aculco, El Arenal and Pena de Bernal.
Mexico City 2022
Donette, Todd and two friends from New Hampshire visited Mexico City in December 2022. Teotihuacan, lucha libre and other classic venues were visited.
