Brazil – March 2024

Todd spent part of March, 2024 attending a climbing festival in Itatim, Brazil. Recorded climbing only began in the area in 1997 and since 2008, over 500 routes have been established. The area has a growing local climbing community who were extremely welcoming.

Todd climbed five days and managed to do three new routes. To help the community, he left bolt pulling equipment so they could upgrade anchors and some guidebooks to be given away as prizes during the festival. He also spent a day exploring the World Heritage Site city of Salvador, also in the state of Bahia.

In October, 2024, Todd and Donette hosted a Brazilian climber from Itatim. He was taken to Bishop, Tuolumne Meadows, Death Valley, Red Rocks and Joshua Tree.
