South Korea, Japan and Taiwan – October/November 2025

Todd and Donette spent a month visiting South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. They flew to Seoul, where they spent more than a week based out of the Nowon neighborhood. In addition to sightseeing,  eating great food and climbing, they visited the DMZ. They then took a train south to Busan.

An overnight ferry from Busan to Shimonoseki got them to Japan. After a bullet train ride, the duo explored around Kyoto for five days, then rented a car in Mishima so they could climb at Ogwayama and Yugawara. They also circumnavigated Mount Fuji. After a few days in Tokyo, they flew to Taiwan.

In Taiwan, they rented a car and in addition to climbing at the Long Dong sea cliffs, they explored Jiufen, Taipei and the beautiful northern coast of the island.

In total, they visited five cliffs (likely doing one new route in Taiwan) and visited about five World Heritage Sites.
